Hanmer Springs Golf course is set in a scenic vista of breathtaking mountain scenery, 385m above sea level. Formed in 1911 the course has changed a lot in one hundred years; the original course was nine holes and occupied what is the present second nine; alterations in 1923 started moving toward the present layout of 18 holes. As well as the manicured fairways and beautiful greens, the Hanmer Springs Golf Course boasts some of North Canterbury’s finest scenery it is reasonably flat easy walking and suits people of all ages and abilities. The course is open 365 days a year and you can hire clubs, trundlers and motorised carts. Just 17km from the alpine resort village of Hanmer Springs is the Amuri ski field. Most Ski all day and then relax in the thermal pools in the evenings.  “Club” field means no queues or crowds but open to general public everyday in the winter months. The terrain is 10% Beginner, 60% Intermediate, 30% Advanced Tows are one long Poma (807m), 1 nutcracker rope tow, 1 beginners fixed grip rope tow. Elevation is 1769m, Ski Terrain is 52ha, Vertical is 310m. The Terrain Park has natural hits, tables pushed up on request, talk to the friendly staff. Grooming is done on all main learner & intermediate runs regularly. Lessons 2 or 3 times daily, lessons timetabled for skiers & snowboarders, bookings preferred. Ski and board hire on mountain.
